I'm celebrating...

from Discover. Play. Build. with Ruth Ayres

I'm celebrating survival.
I'm celebrating success.
I'm celebrating just being and that being is enough.
I'm celebrating laughter through tears.
I'm celebrating that lightbulb moment finally coming after so many moments of being lost.
I'm celebrating authentic friends.
I'm celebrating grace and goodness in the midst of mean words and attacks.

I'm celebrating amazing students!
I'm celebrating true friends!
I'm celebrating wonderful family!

How about you? What are you celebrating today?

  1. I don't know if the mean words and attacks were toward you or a student, but I went through a smiler thing a month ago. Words can be so hurtful but it looks like you are persevering through grace and goodness. Good for you!

  7. I liked this style of poetry with a patterned beginning. The different celebrations sparked celebrations in my own mind! Have another great week.

  8. My motto is really "Optimism overcomes obstacles." But three weeks ago I was MAD! Then I heard this quote, "Staying mad at someone and letting it get to you is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." I'm only human, and optimism doesn't always work, but poison stinks. So I let it go - until it happens again. I will then address it before I boil over! Thanks for leading me to your blog again, Michelle - it's been awhile! Great job with the #litjourneys chat, as always. The group flourishes under your leadership! :-D Have an excellent week ahead.
