Nerdlution: The Sequel...Reflection Round Up Week #2

Second reflection blog post about Nerdlution! I confess that I've slipped a bit...no, not slipped....things haven't gone the way I planned.  The good news is I feel like I've made some big changes to incorporate my nerdlutions...as a daily life practice.

Nerdlution #1: Unplugging for an hour a day
I changed my iPhone plan and drastically cut my data plan. I don't need to be on Facebook & Twitter all day long. Spending too much money on something that's draining and not adding to my life was a change that was long overdue. Now, I'm thoughtful and conscious when I use the internet on my phone. It's a hard change! Much harder than I'd like to admit. It's worth it. BUT, I have not consciously taken an hour everyday. I've made choices to decrease wasted time, but I haven't used that hour like I did the first week. I loved it. I want to get back to that! (Again, this is one of my favorite things about Nerdlution. Changes occur, just not the ones you plan.)

Nerdlution #2: Random Acts of Kindness
The acts of kindness are flowing! I'm finding that I'm getting more than I'm giving. My failure in this nerdlution this week is the lack of recording those acts. It's so easy to forget when I don't stop and write it down. I recorded a couple of days. Bought a bottle of water for the substitute working in my classroom last week. Sending a care package to the daughter of an author who has been very kind and generous to me! I know I've performed RAKs everyday, but I've neglected to record them. That's my revision for this week!

  4. A flooded bathroom helped the process this week! And there were lots of smiles all around with the writing.

Thanks Michelle, for sharing your blog with us. I'm amazed and pondering your move with the data plan. Will you write more about this if you notice anything significant in the next week?

  6. Cutting an hour of tech sounds really hard to me! I chose #nerdlutions that were not very time-intensive--I can complete mine in 11 minutes a day theoretically, though my daily act of kindness often does take more time, especially when a sink of dirty dishes is involved. Will be back to comment on more posts later! My check-in is here: http://wp.me/p2Pe2s-vf

  7. I want to try the acts of kindness. I try to be kind, but making it intentional is a good practice.
