Saturday Celebrations!

Thank you to Ruth for this community of celebration. Please join us!

Do weeks have a "feeling"? You know, like how Mondays often feel slow-moving and Fridays feel exciting because we anticipate the weekend...can weeks have feelings like that? The week before felt slow and sad to me. I felt disconnected and I struggled to celebrate, but this week felt different. This week felt hopeful and happy. The celebrations abound! Here we go...

I celebrate organizing. Cleaned out my work email. Having hundreds of emails hanging out in my inbox stresses me out! I needed to organize and purge. It gives me such a feeling of accomplishment and freedom to see this! LOOK! Here's a picture:

I celebrate my new cozy sweatshirt! It makes me smile every time I see it. I love that it supports DFTBA

I celebrate my photo a day project! It's been so much fun seeing exactly where I am at 5:22pm everyday. I am documenting this project over at Instagram. I'd love for you to follow! You can find me at @Mhaselti.

I celebrate reading. I love to read but there are times when I struggle to find that book that grabs me! This week I found one. I can't put this book down. I love it!! It's one of those books that I'm savoring so I don't finish too quickly. It's a memoir and I'll be writing an entire blog post about it. The book is Carry On, Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton.  You may be familiar with her blog Momastery. Reading this book is like meeting a new friend.

I celebrate Grandma Dinners. School ends at 3:30 and it usually takes me at least another hour to get out of the building. Sometimes I grab dinner on the way home. Yes, at 4:30 or 5:00. Joking with friends about this we came up with the name Grandma Dinners and it stuck! No disrespect to any grandmas out there!

Here's wishing your week was filled with celebrations too!

  1. I LOVE that sweatshirt (but couldn't find it on the website...do you have a direct link?). You had an amazing week, Michelle. I can feel the difference in the mood of your writing. (Oh, and I eat Grandma Dinners too...last night, it was 4:45. :)

  4. So many things you celebrated this week touched my sense of "oh yeah I know that feeling." The cleaned up emails, cozy sweatshirts< finding an old friend in a book. And always something cool you are doing like the instagram challenge.
    Happy Weekend Michelle!

  5. Oh, I am in awe of your empty email box. I can't imagine. Do you want to deal with mine? I'd love to send it off and have it come back empty - all wrapped up and complete. Wow. In awe.

  6. I am favoring Julieanne's reply, Michelle. It says it all. I am interested in your new book that you are reading and look forward to your blog. In the meantime, is winter calling you to find a positive side to it. This is what I am writing about this Saturday.

  7. I am glad you had a great week. Weeks do seem different and there are probably perfectly reasonable explanations for this. Without further investigation we can always contribute the changes to the moon. ;)
I look forward to reading about the book.

  10. I loved that book when I read it recently. I had to laugh about your Grandma Dinners. Oftentimes, my husband and I go to Bob Evan's for their Sunday Buy One Entree, Get One Free. And most times it's around 4:30 or 5:00 when we go. It gives our kids one more thing to laugh at us. Have a wonderful week!

  11. I read your post first on my phone and laughed out loud at the Granny Dinners! We often eat very late these days due to my schedule of commuting and caretaking - often not finishing until 8:30! You may be grannying things up but it sure is a lot healthier! PS Thanks for the book suggestion....ordered it on my Kindle already.

  13. Love the sweatshirt, Michelle. It is certainly awesome, but I really like hearing about the inbox cleaning. I have three different e-mails, & got each below 100 recently. It's a constant issue, isn't it? I'll check you out on Instagram. I don't do much with it, but will follow your journey-great idea!
