Celebrating Simplicity

Thank you Ruth for inspiring me to always look for the celebrations in life!
Join us and share your celebrations!

This week was so busy it feels like a distant memory. Slowing down this weekend! Celebrating the simple joys of life...

Reading a good book.
Watching students learn, struggle, laugh.
Being known.
That first sip of coffee.
Using just the right pen to write.
Writing.
Fancy red chairs at Red Robin.
Collaborative poetry.
Intentional friendships.
Seeing God in my hard moments.
Quiet.
Bella.
Compliments.
People seeing my potential and believing in me.
Opportunities.
Surprises.
Saying YES.
Saying no.
Listening to music.
Life.
Life.
Life.

  1. Saying no. As hard as that can be-I celebrate this with you! (And I love those red chairs--I want some in my kitchen!) A lovely poem gathering up celebrations!

  2. This is certainly the "end of the year" madness in your part of the country - and so your post reads like a memory of teaching in Maryland and living in Virginia. Memorial Day was always the wrap-it-up whirl-wind weekend. Up here, we still have a month to go....so things are calmer....for now.....Your message of celebrating the simple pleasures is so, so, so important. Have a good - restful - weekend.

  8. I love the last lines...life, life, life. I always believe that saying no allows you to say "yes" to something else. I hope you have a wonderful week.

  12. Love that you took the time to slow down and celebrate your week through this lovely list. Reading a good book - the best! I got to do that this week too.
