Celebrating Connections!

Thank you to Ruth Ayres for the opportunity to focus on celebrations every week! Please join us!

I am writing this blog post as I sit in a session during EdCampNoVa.

I was sad I couldn't attend NCTE this year and get the energy from that conference. Instead I get the opportunity to attend this unconference. Spending time with enthusiastic and brilliant teachers makes me better! There are about a hundred educators here this morning. We woke up early on a beautiful Saturday morning and came together to share and learn together!

We are talking about lots of different topics. Ideas generated by those of us HERE! Here's the idea board...

We are discussing so many important issues! The sessions I attended, we learned about connecting as educators and how to coach and provide and participate in meaningful PD and sketchnotes. Hard questions are being asked. Support offered. Connections made.

I celebrate these educators! Motivated and passionate...and changing the world!

Spending these hours listening and learning from these educators brings me inspiration and me invigorated and excited to get back to my classroom and try new things.

  3. That's wonderful that you had the PD locally, Michelle. I always feel jealous when I read all the posts about NCTE, too, but still like hearing what everyone learned. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

  7. Michelle, I just finished my first piece on NCTE moments and thought of you often while watching Taylor Mali perform. His powerful, comedic voice lured me into such a state of positivity. I couldn't contain my laughter and joy. EdCamps afford us with the same strong feelings of connectedness about what we do as educators as I felt that first night of the conference. I am glad that you experienced one and brought back a sense of purpose and positivity.
