Spiritual Journey Thursday

Holly Mueller is hosting a Spiritual Journey Thursday on her blog.  Thank you Holly the opportunity to focus on the spiritual life. This week's topic is about renewal.

Ahhh, it's 9:37pm and it's the first moment I've had to sit down and compose this post. Ironic that the topic is renewal. Holly asked, "What are ways I renew my spirit?" Prayer. What does prayer look like for me?

It's a day long conversation with God.

It's the...

...gratitude email I share with family and friends to focus on my blessings
...Matthew West or Plumb or Rend Collective blasting from my iPhone as I drive to work.
...devotional I read during the moment of silence.
...doodling, praying in color, in my notebook.
...quiet moments I steal during the day to continue the conversation.
...blogs about faith that I read during the day.
...grace I show others because of the grace He always shows me.

Here's a video of one of my new favorite songs by Rend Collective. It's called Joy! I hope it helps renew your spirit.

(Thank you, Holly! I already know Thursday will be one of my favorite days to post!)

  1. Beautiful post! I love phrase "doodling, praying in color!" That song is a perfect ending for my day! Thank you.

  2. For the love! I've tried this three times now, and my comments keep flying into the blogsphere!
I love Rend Collective. Music is absolutely the way I connect and renew. More than once this week I found myself at my piano just playing hymns. I was able to do this for my Granny a couple weeks ago, where she informed me I was rusty and shouldn't let the kids get in the way of my piano playing. I Love Her to Pieces! Anyway, it's the music for me. I know there is reading, prayer, reflection, etc. But for me, it means the most when it's in the form of music. Thanks for sharing! Love this post!

  3. I love that you define prayer in a myriad of ways! Thank you so much for linking up today11 I will look forward to reading about your spiritual journey every Thursday! :-)

  4. I am so glad that Holly started this way for us to connect to the deepest spiritual part of ourselves. I first learned if Rend Collective like last week on Ann Voskamp's blog. Her place is so inspiring. It is the daylong conversation that keeps us going. Thanks for sharing!

Please share your thoughts. I love comments!
