Celebration of a Week Well Spent

Thank you to Ruth Ayres for the opportunity to focus on celebrations every week!

I celebrate writing. I just reread my celebration post from last week and I'm grateful to be a writer, especially a blogger. I can look back and see such change and growth.

I celebrate risks. This past week I spent in a new place, meeting new people, and finally believing in my heart that I am a writer. Being surrounded by brilliant and supportive writers and being counted one of them, BY them has inspired me so much. It's changed me.

I celebrate the act of writing. Sitting down. Butt in chair. I celebrate the moments of despair and the moments of clarity that often follow the despair. I celebrate the work...the journey.

I celebrate the friends I made at this retreat. I can't say enough about these strong, smart, funny, inspiring women!

I celebrate a new goal. Writing a book. I've begun. It's at the very 1, even before page 1...but it's begun. I want to write more before I share anymore here, but know how much I appreciate all of the support from everyone who reads and comments here. Those words keep me going!

I celebrate dreams.
I celebrate hard work.
I celebrate faith.
I celebrate writing!

I can't end the post there.
Here's an excerpt from President Obama's remarks about the historical ruling by the Supreme Court:

“ should also give us hope that on the many issues with which we grapple, often painfully, real change is possible. Shift in hearts and minds is possible...because for all of our differences, we are one people, stronger together than we could ever be alone. That’s always been our story... today, we can say in no uncertain terms that we’ve made our union a little more perfect.”

Love Wins!
I celebrate love!

  1. It's so exciting to think that someday I'll see your name on the cover of a book, Michelle! Happy that you had a wonderful week at Highlights. It is a special place. And I am happy, happy about the ruling yesterday too, for all my friends and family who've been waiting for this, what a day it was! Have a super weekend!

  2. Yay! Yay! Yay! What a wonderful, productive, inspiring, gritty week you had. You held true to your OLW this week and are better because of it. You ARE FLYing!

  3. Change, growth, love...that's God's call to us. So glad you are celebrating the writer in you. I agree with Jennifer, you are flying! Soaring!

  4. I'm so proud of you, your growth and your belief in yourself. I'm glad you see it!

  5. Did you meet Lee Ann Spillane? I think she was at the Highlights retreat too. Congrats on your new goal and plans for a book!

    1. Yes, Ramona! It was such a special treat to spend the week with Lee Ann too!

Please share your thoughts. I love comments!
